Several New York Giants players were on hand at the Renaissance New York Midtown Motel Thursday to present a $115,000 check from Modell’s Sporting Goods to the Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation for cancer research.

The event closes out the Tackle Kids Cancer fundraising partnership launched last September by the Giants and Modell’s, which took donations for the foundation at its stores in New York and New Jersey.

The players present at the check presentation included Orleans Darkwa, Kerry Wynn, Jerome Cunningham and Uani Unga.

“We held the dollar donation campaign in our stores, sold Giants pride t-shirts with proceeds going to tackle kids cancer,” said Modell’s spokeswoman Julia Pantalone.

“It was an idea brought to us by the Giants. It was just an awesome opportunity for us to get involved.”
