Ted Cruz campaign reaches new low, releases negative radio ad to rip Mayor de Blasio

You’ve got lot of nerve, Ted.

The campaign of Big Apple-hating Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz reached a new low Wednesday, releasing a negative radio ad taking aim not only at New York City but at Mayor de Blasio.

The 60-second ad, titled “Nerve,” begins with a clip of de Blasio attacking Cruz for being “out of touch with New York State and New York City.”

“He’s got a lot of nerve,” a narrator interjects. “De Blasio’s socialist policies are tearing this city apart.”

“Murder is up nearly 10%. He treats cops like criminals and criminals like freedom fighters. De Blasio made New York a sanctuary city, rolling out the red carpet for illegals, and de Blasio ended stop and frisk even where terrorist suspects are known to congregate,” the narrator adds.

“Now, he’s meddling in the Republican primary campaigning against Cruz because when Cruz is President, de Blasio is done,” the narrator continues. “No more criminal coddling soft on terror policies, no more sanctuary cities and Cruz will instruct the Justice Department to hold corrupt politicians accountable. Maybe that’s why de Blasio fears Ted Cruz. Send de Blasio a message, vote Cruz for President.”

In a statement, Karen Hinton, de Blasio's press secretary, shot back against Cruz’s unseemly stats and erroneous accusations.

“NYC's murder rate is down almost 20%, and shootings are down 12% from 2015. But Mr. Cruz doesn’t deal in facts, only insults,” she said. “And he just insulted New Yorkers once again by lying about the city’s murder rate, the officers who have kept murders and shootings down at record numbers and the millions of immigrants who work and live in NYC.”
