Google Search now teaches your kids animal sounds

Google Search animal sounds
In addition to education, another new feature lets you vote on reality show contestants right from Search results.

Google has just released a couple of new Search features to its Chrome browser, appealing to opposite ends of their audience spectrum.

The first is geared towards children and learning. Typing in "animal sounds" in Google pops up a little carousel wheel of flash cards. Each card shows a picture of an animal, its name beneath it, and a button to play audio of that animal's cry. There are 19 animals currently enabled in the search feature, with the most common, cat, dog, and cow sounds, ranging to the more exotic moose and whale. Alternately, you can search for a particular animal's sound to draw up its card. The updated feature, announced on Google's Austria Google+ page, is available on Google search in the desktop browser as well as for Android.

The second new feature is one that's releasing to users in Asia. The update will soon let you vote for your favourite contestant in a reality show right from the Search results. All you have to do is search for the show's name, and then click one of the contestants in the cards that pop up below. This will also be available on both desktop and Android, TheNextWebreported. Vietnam's Got Talent has reportedly already signed on for the feature, after The X Factor Indonesia already successfully tested it out last year. India and Thailand counterparts for the same shows are expected to follow suit soon.
