Kerala temple fire: Case registered against Puttingal temple authorities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Kollam to asses the situation.

Unexploded explosives have been found at the site of Puttingal temple fire, which claimed 83 lives and left more than 350 injured. A case has been registered against the Puttingal temple authorities in this connection.

In the meantime, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked for the mobilisation of Air Force and Navy assets to assist in the rescue and relief operation.

Prime Minister who is in Kollam to asses the situation, instructed that no official welcome protocols should be followed on his arrival.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has convened an emergency cabinet meeting in Kollam at 3 pm.

Meanwhile, the Indian Navy also joined the rescue operation, dispatching one Dornier, two Advanced Light Helicopters (ALHs) and medical teams from Garuda Naval Air station near Kochi.
