An Australian film maker got cozier than most of us would like with a great white shark while filming for an episode of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week.

Dave Riggs and his crew were filming in South Australia when “…we ran into one of the most remarkable animals I’ve ever seen.”

He said the shark, a female, was about 13.5 feet long.

She was “extremely inquisitive about what we were and what we were doing.”

“Of course, great whites don’t have hands, so she was researching the area in the only way she knows how -– and that’s with her mouth,” Riggs said.

Good thing only their camera was in the water…
