Jallikattu organisers will approach the Supreme Court appealing against its order banning the festival, said media reports.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice of India (CJI) TS Thakur on Wednesday asked some of the organizers of Jallikattu, who had sought permission from CJI Court to organise the festival, to move before an appropriate bench.
On Tuesday, the apex court had overruled the Centre and declared that the festival will not be held in Tamil Nadu this year.
Consequently, Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa had appealed to the Modi government to issue an ordinance allowing Jallikattu in the state. Her demand has been supported by many other Tamil Nadu parties.
Echoing her views, DMK chief Karunanidhi said, "All Opposition parties in Tamil Nadu have only expressed the opinions reflected in the letter written by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to Prime Minister Modi."
"On behalf of DMK, I urge that an ordinance amending the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, be promulgated and help holding Jallikattu sport," he said.

Meanwhile Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan assured positive action in this regard and expressed disappointment at the Supreme Court verdict.
Dismayed supporters and organisers of the sport resorted to agitation and road blockades in some parts of the state and downed shutters in various areas on Tuesday, including those in Madurai district, hitting normalcy. Police said the situation in some areas in Madurai district where the sport has largely been held traditionally was tense, but under control.
