Just in the past year, the number of small, upscale, crossover SUVs vying for consumer attention has grown substantially. In response, Acura has given its 5-passenger RDX model more than just a nip here and a tuck there.

Changes for 2016

• Sharpened exterior styling with standard LED headlights and taillights, new wheel designs

• Updated interior with new trim, rear seat air conditioning vents, heated front seats

• Revised Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure in order to provide better occupant protection in a collision

• More powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine with fuel-saving Variable Cylinder Management technology

• Revised steering, suspension, and optional AWD system tuning

• Technology option package adds 8-way power adjustable front passenger’s seat, HD Radio, multi-view reversing camera, blind spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert system, and a dual-screen infotainment system setup

• New AcuraWatch Plus option package including lane departure warning with lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, and an automatic emergency braking system

• New Advance option package equipping the RDX with AcuraWatch Plus safety systems, fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming side mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, remote engine starting, ventilated front seats, and 18-inch aluminum wheels
