As wildlife rangers hunted for the lions, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) appealed for assistance.
Two lions escaped from Kenyan capital Nairobi's national park on Friday and ran loose into a densely populated area.
As wildlife rangers hunted for the lions, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) appealed for assistance and issued a statement asking for ""for help to get two lionesses that strayed from the Nairobi National Park."
The Kenyan Wildlife Services spokesman Paul Udotu urged people to stay calm and "Lions are dangerous wild animals. Avoid provoking the lions by confronting them." Soon, the KWS officials along with armed rangers with dart guns were seen searching the bushes and agricultural land to find the animals.
Udoto further said, "These are highly populated areas and that is why we are intensifying the search. Anyone with information about them should share it with us immediately." According to reports, it is not the first time when the lions escaped the national park. There have also been reports of livestock farmers killing the lions in order to protect their herd, reported.
Udoto said the lions were last spotted around Nairobi's Langata district, "Our teams comprising veterinary officials have been in Langata looking for the animals."
